EAST COAST SWING

Greetings from NYC! Arrived here yesterday from Boston via Acela Express. I enjoyed the train ride, although it was weird not having the salad queens on board with me. Anyhow, in Boston, Margie and I walked all around. Saturday we walked around Harvard and Davis Squares. When it was about to rain, we ducked into the theater and caught Indiana Jones. I liked it, but Margie couldn't get into it.

On Sunday, we started in Boston's North End with some good Italian food and a tour of Paul Revere's house. All 3 rooms of it. That's a dollar per room folks. Afterwards, we walked down toward Faneuil Hall, Beacon Hill, and did some shopping on Newbury. No sales tax! Woohoo. We would intermittently stop for drinks and snacks as it was really hot, so we were stuffed by the time we went home, and skipped dinner. Of course, at 2 am absolutely starving, I got up to eat crackers we had left over from wine and cheese night.

Monday I was super tired from not being able to sleep, and ended up catching the 11:15 train instead of 9:15. That got me into NYC at around 2:45 and I went straight to work. After we finished setting up, we checked in and grabbed dinner at Benjamin's Steakhouse. Supposedly, Benjamin's was opened by a guy was the chef at Peter Lugar's, so it was pretty good steak. (Madison & 41st) Tonight we had dinner at China Grill with one of our clients. That was pretty good too! I'm always wary of fusion Asian places, but we had some yummy stuff.

After I get back, I decide I want to buy a couple bottles of water. I walk out to Madison and hang a right to go to Duane Reade's, but they're closed. I figure, 10 more blocks, I should come across CVS. 10 blocks and 2 avenues later, still no CVS. I decide I'll go one more block past my own before heading towards Madison.... still nothing... but once I'm nearly back to the hotel....there it is, a little grocery, 2 doors down, if I had only tuned left instead of right on Madisonn. Oh well, I needed the exercise anyway. Speaking of... I actually got up to run this morning... just did a mile around the neighborhood at 6:30... and the streets were already busy. Ended up sucking in a bunch of second hand and car fumes. Probably did more harm than good. No wonder they run in the park.
